Aim

To provide dental nurses with a comprehensive understanding of the General Dental Council’s (GDC) Enhanced CPD requirements, including planning, recording, reflecting, and meeting deadlines to maintain professional registration.

Objectives

  • Identify the key components of Enhanced CPD, including the required number of hours, use of a Personal Development Plan (PDP), and reflection.
  • Demonstrate how to link CPD activities to the GDC’s four development outcomes and complete the annual and end-of-cycle declarations.
  • Recognise the importance of accurate record-keeping, timely submissions, and the risks of non-compliance with GDC requirements.
